Pedestrian Struck by Motor Vehicle on Washington Street

The following is an excerpt from the Peabody Police Department's log:Â
Friday, July 26
- 3:04 p.m. a caller reported a black Univega mountain bike that was stolen from Paleologos Street.Â
- 4:43 p.m. a caller reported a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle on Washington Street. The operator of the motor vehicle was a 74-year-old woman driving a Dodge Stratus. The pedestrian that was struck, who was 63 years old, refused transportation to a medical facility.Â
- 5:45 p.m. the Sears at the North Shore Mall reported a shoplifter that they were chasing and was last seen in the area of Barnes and Nobles. Police stopped a vehicle containing the shoplifter, which was driven by an individual with a suspended license. Police summonsed the operator and arrested the shoplifter, Anthony A. Magwood, 36, of 629 Eastern Ave., Apt. 1, Lynn. Magwood was charged with shoplifting by concealing.Â
- 9:51 p.m. a caller reported a past burglary to a residence on Dexter Street. The suspect gained entry through a rear window. Assorted jewelry valued at $600 was stolen from the home.Â
- 1:08 a.m. a caller reported that her purse was stolen while she was at Paddy Kelley's on Washington Street.Â
- 7:26 a.m. a caller reported a male party that stole scrap metal from a construction site on Newbury Street.
- 9:22 a.m. a caller reported a rock from a lawn mower broke her window on Lindauer Street.Â
