Person Says Never Got Paid After Sending 2 Phones to Nigeria

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Dec. 15-16.
Sunday, Dec. 15
- 2:05 p.m. A 45-year-old Peabody woman was issued a court summons on a charge of domestic assault and battery, following a report of a past dispute at her Stevens Street apartment. Police said they would also be filing child endangerment charges.
- 5:11 p.m. An officer reported there was a dispute between neighbors on Dustin Street over snow.
- 6:45 p.m. An officer reported there was an intoxicated person outside Oliveira's Steak House who was attempting to drive away. The officer called the person a taxi instead.
- 8:12 p.m. A caller at the McVann-O'Keefe Rink reported a female hockey player hit the boards and was lying on the ice. The person was transported to Salem Hospital.
- 8:35 p.m. Luis F. Marques, 26, of 357 Lafayette St. #2, Salem, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 114 at Violet Road. He was charged on active warrant from another department.
- 8:40 p.m. A caller on Osborne Street reported she had her driveway plowed out and then someone else parked there. The vehicle owner was contacted and moved the car.
- 10:10 p.m. A car slid off the road on Jacobs Street into an embankment. Police said the road was very icy and DPS was notified to respond with a sander.
Monday, Dec. 16
- 2:11 a.m. A caller on Lake Shore Road reported her car slid off the road into a snowbank and was stuck. A tow truck was called and DPS was notified to respond with a sander.
- 6:35 a.m. An officer reported the sidewalks in Wilson Square were icy and hazardous for children walking to school.
- 8:41 a.m. An 18-year-old Lynn resident was issued a court summons on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250, following a report of a stolen bicycle at D&R Market on Foster Street.
- 9:13 a.m. An officer reported a dispute between neighbors on Pine Street over snow removal.
- 9:42 a.m. A caller on Pierpont Street reported a stray dog was playing with her Christmas lights earlier in the morning. She was advised a Good Samaritan had already brought the pit bull to the station to turn into over to the animal control officer.
- 1:02 p.m. Staff at Rosewood Nursing Home on Johnson Street reported two snowblowers worth $1,800 each were stolen from a maintenance shed since October.
- 1:31 p.m. A person reported sending a couple of phones to Nigeria and then not getting paid for them.
