PLL 10 year old All-Stars Still in the Hunt for District Title

The Peabody Little League 10 year old All-Star team advances to the District final after a win against Lynnfield.

During the past two weeks, the topic of everyone’s conversations has been the weather. Hot temperatures have taken over the New England region and with that heat comes Little League Baseball’s District All-Star Tournament. Teams from all over the region have been braving the conditions in a quest for the title of District Champions.

Flying under the radar has been Peabody Little League’s 10 year old All-Star team. Managed by Chris King, Rob Kaminski, and Brian Dunn, this team has proved a force to be reckoned with. Starting the tournament with a big 15-2 win against Pine Hill in their opening game was only the beginning.

Their next two games, a 5-2 win over Winthrop and a 6-5 nail biting win versus cross town rival West Peabody added motivation for the boys to land a spot in the District 16 Championship game. Unfortunately, the boys fell short on Thursday night in a 6-1 loss against Swampscott. Despite the loss, they were back at it again on Saturday morning. They came out with a big 5-1 win against Lynnfield to advance play in the District Finals.

The best part of this team has been the teamwork displayed. Whether it is one of the pitchers pitching deep into the game, someone in the field making a big play, a nice steal by a pinch runner, or a big hit from a hitter off of the bench, this team has displayed ultimate sportsmanship and teamwork throughout. The Peabody 10 year old All-Star’s look to extend their tournament run on Sunday against Swampscott. The game will be played at 2:00 pm at the East Lynn field.
