Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Awards 4 Graduates with Scholarships

(PEABODY,MA) On May 28, 2020 Directors of the Puritan Lawn Educational Foundation awarded $5,000 each in educational scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year to four worthy recipients for a total of $20,000. This year’s award recipients are: Elizabeth Pierce of Lynn (UMass Amherst), Jennifer Robles of Lynn (UMass Lowell), Hailey Lewis of Lynn (UMass Amherst) and Peyton Applegate of Marblehead (North Carolina State Univ. at Raleigh).

While this was a very challenging year for everyone, the Puritan Lawn Foundation was overwhelmed with worthy applicants to the scholarship program from local students across eastern Massachusetts. Each of these candidates were selected due to their exemplary character and maturity, academic success, and a deep ability to care for others. The Foundation Directors were so proud to meet each candidate in person and reward their amazing achievements.

The Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Educational Foundation was established by Peabody’s own Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematory in 1997 in order to assist area students with expenses related to their educational endeavors. Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced extreme hardship during their high school years yet are highly motivated to continue their education. The Foundation’s goal is to provide four-year scholarships to deserving youths interested in continuing their education with two year and four-year college programs as well as trade schools. 100% of funds raised support educational scholarships for local youth.
