Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Donates To Peabody Veterans
Donations collected to assist Peabody Municipal Veterans Assistance Fund
(PEABODY,MA) To commemorate the 19th anniversary of the September 11th attack, Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt, accompanied by Veterans Services Representatives: Commander Harry Gardner, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Commander Donald White, Disabled American Veterans; Commander John Pelosi Sr., American Legion; and Donna Jansky, National President of the Fleet Reserve Association met with Lawrence Glynn, III, a Director of Puritan Lawn Memorial Park to present donations in excess of $1,000 to support Peabody Veterans.
As a Veteran-owned cemetery, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park regularly holds services to honor Veterans and their families, including their annual Memorial Day service. In previous years, Puritan Lawn has raised funds for NEADS service dogs for Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and local organizations that support the homeless and hungry population. This year the Park became aware of a municipal fund, initiated by Peabody Veterans Services Director Steve Patten, created to support local Veterans in need.
“Giving back to our community is of the utmost importance – especially to Veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country”, shared Lawrence Glynn III, Director of Puritan Lawn. “The families who own property at Puritan Lawn are very generous, and we work together to give back to impactful organizations that serve people in need, especially those in our own neighborhood. The City of Peabody’s support for Veterans is unmatched and we couldn’t be happier to help Veterans and their families to succeed.”

Funds raised will be used for veterans or their dependents who are in need of immediate assistance with food, shelter, transportation or help with an overdue heating bill. The hope is that additional fundraising efforts will help this fund to support emergency housing for Veterans.
