Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Food Drive to Support Local Kids

DONATIONS TO ASSIST NO CHILD GOES HUNGRY IN PEABODY

(PEABODY, MA) On May 22, 2020 the staff and directors of Puritan Lawn Memorial Park gathered boxes and bags of food donated to help support local kids in need through a program called No Child Goes Hungry In Peabody, an affiliate program of The Citizens Inn and Haven for Hunger.

Recognizing the rising needs of the community affected by company closures and the health crisis, Puritan Lawn launched a number of initiatives to lend a hand. The first was to work with No Child Goes Hungry in Peabody to help supplement food resources for children who would typically receive reduced rate lunches when in school. Since kids are now out of school and more families are out of work than ever before, the need for healthy food has more than tripled. Approximately 900 students per week are now receiving supplemental food assistance through this program.

Lot owners and friends of Puritan Lawn also contributed monetary and food gifts. These generous people include: Kelley Rogers, Corrie Caron, Peabody Huggins HVAC, Hannah and Molly Brown and their family, Twisted Elegance Hair Spa, Puritan Lawn staff and directors, and many others who asked to remain anonymous.
