PWLL 10's Stay Alive With Win Over Saugus American

Peabody West came from behind to score a walk-off win at Wyoma ...

LYNN — Trailing early in the game, the Peabody West 10-year-old All Star team came from behind to score a 5-4 win over Saugus American, staying alive in the District 16 10-year-old tournament.

PWLL (the home team) started the bottom of the sixth in a 4-4 tie. Spencer Parziale began the inning with a walk and Aiden Grove also walked to put runners on first and second with nobody out. Leadoff hitter Matthew Droggitis singled to load the bases and that brought up Ryan Moreschi, who battled back after falling behind 0-2 in the count to work a walk that scored Parziale, and gave PWLL the win. Peabody West head coach Rob Moreschi said after the game that he moved Ryan and Cory Dooley up in the lineup, which paid off, putting two of PWLL's top hitters up with the bases loaded.

Peabody West scored its first run of the game in the second inning. Aidan Horgan singled and later scored in the inning off the bat of Brendan Kobierski, at the time cutting the PWLL deficit to 2-1.

PWLL scored another in the fifth to, at the time, tie the score. LaRosa led off the inning with a single, followed by contact from Horgan, James DiCarlo and Gabe Casiano to score the run.
