PWLL 11's Come From Behind, Eliminate Salem With Walk-Off Win

PEABODY — Facing elimination in the District 16 10-11 Tournament, the Peabody West 11-year-old All Star team scored three runs in their final at-bat to take an 8-7 win over Salem, advancing to play on Monday night at Wyoma.
PWLL's offense came alive in the fourth inning. Michael Petromelis began the rally with a double and Dylan Annese walked to put two runners on base. Colton Carpenter hit a flare to left, scoring Petromelis, and Jayden Vargas hit a double to score Annese and Carpenter.
In the fifth, Joe Keka led off the inning with a single and Petromelis walked; both baserunners would later go on to cross the plate.

Vargas got the rally started for PWLL in the sixth inning, singling with one out. Chris Martinello doubled to advance Vargas to third and both Martinello and Vargas would score on a double by Danati Fronduto, which tied the game.
Keka walked and Petrolmelis singled, to advance Fronduto (the winning run) to third base. Joey Sinabaldi's single scored Fronduto to give PWLL the walk-off win on its home field.

Fronduto started for Peabody West on the hill and Annese and Sinabadi also pitched for PWLL. Sinabaldi faced five batters over the last two innings, forcing two groundouts and also striking out a pair.
PWLL head coach Todd Jurczyk also said the team got solid efforts in the field from Sam Bollman (CF), Dylan Jurczyk (RF), Kyle Marron (CF), Anthony Patti (LF). Patti also singled in the fourth inning while Marron walked in the fourth.
Peabody West will play next on Monday night (7:30) at Wyoma against either Peabody or Wyoma in another elimination game.
