Route 1 Restaurant Closes In Peabody One Year After Makeover

Seawitch changed its name and remodeled late last year. It had been serving seafood on Route 1 for more than 50 years.

PEABODY, MA -- A new name and a fresh remodel do not appear to have been enough to save a restaurant on Route 1 in Peabody. SeaGrilz and North Shore Lobster has closed, less than a year after it changed its name from Sea Witch Restaurant & Oyster Bar.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, which first reported this story, the owner signaled he was planning to retire and looking to sell the business on a listing on a Website for buying and selling businesses. Seawitch had previously occupied the space for more than 50 years.
