Salem Native Named To YMCA Of Metro North Board
Jerry Salerno, currently the senior vice president of North Shore Bank in Peabody, is one of two new board members.

PEABODY, MA — A Salem native and Peabody bank senior vice president is one of two North Shore residents named to the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Metro North.
Jerry Salerno, who grew up in Salem and is currently the senior vice president at North Shore Bank in Peabody, was named to the board, along with Lynn resident Josephine Reyes.
"I am so excited to welcome Josephina and Jerry to our dedicated team of directors who volunteer their time and resources to advance the mission of the Y," said Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. "As we look forward to reviving our strategic plan post-Covid, expanding and diversifying our board members' collective capabilities is a key part of our goals.

Reyes, a lifelong Lynn resident, is Senior Client Associate at Wells Fargo Private Bank. Reyes has a decade of involvement in the banking industry, including five years at Wells Fargo, four years as an executive assistant at Enterprise Wealth Management in Lowell, and two years at TD Bank. In addition, Reyes also serves as a Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy Outcomes Chair for Well Fargo, where she is involved in the Hispanic and Latino Connection Employee Resource Network.

Reyes previously served as a member of the Board of Advisors for the YMCA of Metro North's Lynn Branch, where she was instrumental in the launch of its newly opened Demakes Family YMCA.
Salerno has worked for 22 years at North Shore Bank in a banking career that spans 36 years. He was at the former Peabody-based Warren Bank before his tenure at the North Shore Bank. Salerno previously served on the Peabody Chamber of Commerce board, Northeastern Mass Economic Development Company, and is past treasurer at Partners for Georgetown Football.
A lifelong resident of the North Shore, and current Georgetown resident, Salerno grew up in Salem and earned a business degree at Salem State University.
"North Shore Bank is committed to community involvement," he said. "I have been fortunate to participate, volunteer, and work with countless civic and charitable organizations in the region, and I’m thrilled to continue this work with the YMCA of Metro North."
The YMCA of Metro North has branches in Lynn, Melrose, Peabody, Saugus, and Stoneham that serve more than 69,000 people annually and provide $1.2 million in financial assistance to access YMCA health programming, child care, and summer camps.
