Snow Forces Peabody Schools Into Remote Learning Friday
Peabody Public Schools will stay in a remote learning model for the second straight day after 15 inches of snow covered the city.
PEABODY, MA — Peabody students will get a second straight day of remote learning on Friday because of Thursday's big snowstorm.
The city was one of the leaders in the state snowfall pack with 15 inches reported from the first major storm of the season.
"Due to continued weather related concerns, Peabody Public Schools will engage in remote learning on Friday," Peabody Superintendent Josh Vadala said Thursday night. "All schools, including Passos Avante, will be closed. Central office and the special education office will open at 11 a.m."

Vadala said the schedule will be similar to the one used on Thursday.
Peabody Public Schools are set to return to hybrid learning next week with Cohort A in person on Monday and Cohort B in person on Tuesday.

Peabody is one several schools on the North Shore to switch to remote learning for "snow days" this year amid the coronavirus health crisis. Essex Tech, Marblehead and Swampscott were among the schools to stick with an old-fashioned, day off instead of remote learning.
