Snow In Peabody: What You Need To Know
We have all the details on what you need to know to weather this weekend's storm.

PEABODY, MA -- Weather forecasters say Massachusetts could get as much as one to two feet of snow this weekend. Here's what you need to know to before the storm hits Peabody. We'll update this story with cancellations as we hear of them, but, in the meantime, keep the following in mind:
If and when the city declares a snow emergency, the city will post a notice on its Website. Another notice will be posted when it has been lifted. Vehicles have to removed from the street by that time. If you do not have off-street parking, there may be options available in your area. Call 978-538-6312 for more information.

DPW crews have more than 170 miles of roadways to clear in Peabody, so while the city does not have an ordinance requiring property owners to clear sidewalks of snow, it says their help in doing so is "greatly appreciated." Peabody officials also ask for residents' help in digging out the 1,800 fire hydrants in the city.
Finally, the city asks residents to call 978-536-7114 with specific service requests during storms. This, the city says, is the most efficient way to contact the city during a snowstorm.
