Suspect Arrested in Unarmed Robbery at Bank of America
The suspect allegedly responsible for an unarmed robbery at a Peabody ATM Monday surrendered himself for arrest after a warrant was put out Tuesday.

Peabody police, Tuesday afternoon, identified the suspect from an unarmed robbery the day before at the Bank of America across from the Northshore Mall and said the man turned himself in shortly after an arrest warrant was issued.
On Tuesday, police put out an arrest warrant for Gerald Russo, 33, of 116 Foster St. #3. He was charged with unarmed robbery and breaking and entering into a motor vehicle in the daytime for a felony.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., Russo surrendered himself for arrest at the Peabody Police Department without incident.Â
Police first got a call around 11:20 a.m. on Monday from a Bank of America customer who claimed that the suspect, now identified as Russo, allegedly came up to her vehicle while she was at the drive-up ATM, got in the car and demanded cash.Â
The victim -- a 35-year-old woman -- told police the robber got away with approximately $200 in cash.
Russo was due to be arraigned at Peabody District Court Tuesday afternoon.Â
Peabody Patrolman Brendan O'Brien led the investigation.
