Three Arrested on Gun Charges in Peabody

Investigation leads to arrest of three on gun charges on Collins Street on Tuesday.

Peabody, MA - An investigation at a Collins Street led to arrests on gun and drug charges on Tuesday morning.

Peabody Police detectives D.J. Murphy and Lt. William Cook were at 14 Collins Street, Apt. 5 on Tuesday morning when they noticed the handles of two handguns in the apartment.

The detectives, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police, secured the area and got a search warrant for the apartment, where they found three pistols, ammunition, and nearly a pound of marijuana, according to Peabody Police Captain Dennis Bonaiuto.

Police arrested Kyle Dexter, 23, of 14 Collins St., #5 in Peabody and charged him with three counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a class D drug with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana.

Chad Mazzatto, 19, of Harriman Hill in Raymond, NH was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card and possession of ammunition.

Alexandria Kinlock, 23, of Central Street in Byfield was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card and possession of ammunition.

All three were arraigned in Peabody District Court on Wednesday and are due in court again on June 1.

Also assisting at the scene on Collins Street on Tuesday assisting with the search were Captain Scott Wlasuk, Sgt. Eric Zawicki, Detective Eric Ricci, and Detective David B. Murphy.

Bonaiuto praised the efforts of state and local police to secure the scene and ensure the safety of the neighborhood.
