#10 Plymouth North Loses Against #7 Duxbury In Girls Lax, 19-10
Annika Pyy and Caroline Egan had stellar performances in the loss for Plymouth North.
PLYMOUTH, MA- The #10 Plymouth North Blue Eagles faced the #7 Duxbury Dragons in the MIAA Girls Lacrosse Division 1 Tournament First Round on Monday Afternoon.
In the first quarter, Duxbury scored the first three goals of the game when Sophia Prouty, Maddy King, and Bella Fisher all scored for the team. Plymouth North scored their first two goals of the game when Annika Pyy and Carolina Egan scored their goals. Next, Egan tied the game at three with her second goal. Then, Campbell Johnston helped Duxbury take back the lead with a goal. Duxbury was leading 4-3 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Plymouth North tied the game when Pyy scored her second goal of the game. Julia Adamski helped Duxbury take back the lead when she scored, which started a 4-0 scoring run for the team as Johnston, Sydney Ecker, and Fisher also scored goals for Duxbury. Pyy would stop the run with her goal to make it 8-5 with 3:16 left in the half. Fisher scored the last goal of the half for Duxbury make it 9-5 at the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, Duxbury continued their run into another 4-0 run that included goals from Prouty, Johnston, and Ayla Abban. Pyy stopped the run again to cut the deficit to 12-6, which will go out to make a 4-0 run of their own which included two more goals for Pyy and a goal from Egan. Adamski stopped the run with as goal as time expires to make it 13-8 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Prouty, Johnston, and Fisher scored the first three goals for Duxbury. Next Egan and Pyy scored the next two goals for Plymouth North. Then, Ellie Wall scored her first goal of the game for Duxbury to make it 17-10. Abban and Carson Cerow closed out the game for Duxbury as they would win 19-10.

Duxbury will advance to the Quarterfinals and they will travel to #2 Wellesley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
