Earthquake Hits Wareham-Onset Area
An earthquake with a 2.0 magnitude hit the Wareham-Onset area Wednesday morning, according to the Wareham Department of Natural Resources.

WAREHAM, MA — An earthquake hit the Wareham-Onset area Wednesday morning, according to the Wareham Department of Natural Resources. The earthquake happened around 1:30 a.m. and had a magnitude of 2.0. The department said its doing research and will provide an update as soon as possible.
"We have just received information from the Boston College-Weston Observatory, Earth and Environmental Service that their preliminary findings show that the Wareham-Onset area did feel a 2.0 magnitude earthquake at approximately 1:30am this morning," the Department of Natural Resources said on its Facebook page. "The observatory is currently doing more research on the event and will update us as soon as possible. "
