#8 Case Routs #2 West Bridgewater In South Final Softball, 11-0

Case will repeat as South Sectional Champions as they will now fight for the state title in Softball.

SWANSEA, MA- The #8 Case Cardinals faced the #2 West Bridgewater Wildcats in the MIAA Division 3 South Sectional Final. Case defeated #4 Abington Green Wave in the semifinals. West Bridgewater defeated Millis, Holbrook, and Bellingham in the Tournament.

In the second inning, Abigail Sirois was hit by the pitch, pitcher Hailey Berube walked, and then Alexandra Holden would pinch-run for Berube. Lily Picard brought home Sirois on an RBI Double and then Holden scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 Case.

In the third inning, Olivia Silva singled and then was replaced by Jamison Moniz who was the pinch-runner, she then advanced to second on a walk by Brooke Orton, both Orton and Moniz advanced on a wild pitch, then Sirois walked to make it bases loaded. Berube brought home Moniz on the sacrifice fly then Picard hit a 2-run double to make it 5-0.

In the last few innings, Caroline Pinto hit a double and then scored on a wild pitch that made it 6-0 in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Berube hit a single, and was replaced by Holden and then advanced on a single by Picard, and then advanced to third on a passed ball. Hannah Pelletier walked and then Moniz was hit by pitch and Holden scored. Alexandra Yost hit an RBI single and Picard scored. Finally, Olivia Silva cleared the bases with a 3-RBI Double to make it 11-0, which would be the final score for the Case win.

Case will be traveling to Amesbury to face the Indians who won the North Sectional Championship. The winner will face the winner of Hopedale/Turners Fall. The North/South game will take place on Monday at 5 p.m.
