PLYMOUTH, MA - - The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod will be hosting the Bridging Abilities Online Auction to support their Covid Relief Fund from April 8th through April 10th. Funds raised will assist in so many ways - including but not limited to providing much-needed financial relief to the individuals and families supported by the non-profit. Those wishing to view the items and participate in the auction can visit galabid.com/bridgingabilities or text your full name and bridgingabilities to 15415834642.

The Arc has successfully raised thousands of dollars in years past, primarily through an annual golf tournament, to supplement and enhance the critical services offered such as acquired brain injury supports, adult family care services, family-centered webinars and trainings, autism support services, employment support services, companionship, and much more.

Due to the continued presence of COVID-19, however, the organization has decided against holding the tournament in 2021 to ensure the health and safety of donors, staff, and volunteers. Instead, the Bridging Abilities Auction will raise needed funds to help the organization with expenses related to COVID-19.

“I am proud of the support The Arc has continued to provide to people with disabilities and their families throughout the pandemic,” said Mary Valachovic, Executive Director. “COVID-19 continues to challenge our organization in so many ways including unexpected Covid-19 related expenses, such as PPE, and unprecedented staffing challenges. We’re hopeful that the Bridging Abilities Auction provides a safe way for our communities to continue to support our mission.”

Community members can support the #ArcCovidRelief Fund by bidding on services, gift cards, virtual experiences, vacations, and unique items contributed by local businesses and donors. Bidding will open at 8am on April 8th and the auction will close at 8pm on April 10th.
