Benny's Closing: Plymouth Location Affected
Retail chain Benny's, which started in 1924, announced it is closing all 31 of its stores — including one in North Attleboro.
PLYMOUTH, MA — Retail chain Benny's, which started in Rhode Island in 1924 and expanded into Massachusetts and Connecticut, on Friday announced it will close all 31 of its stores — including its Plymouth location.
"Our ownership family has decided to retire," the company said in a statement. "In a short period of time, the retail landscape has changed dramatically – especially for 'brick and mortar' businesses. The decision to retire was strongly influenced by this changing face of retailing."

"We will miss our employees who have been such a big part of what has made Benny’s successful for so many decades," the company's statement continued. "And of course, we’ll miss our many loyal customers who have supported us over the years.
