Bristol-Plymouth Football Star Killed In Crash
Michael Catania, 19, of Raynham, was killed in a collision on Route 138 this week. He was an athletic star at Bristol-Plymouth High.
RAYNHAM, MA — A football star from Raynham killed in a crash Monday was remembered as someone who "cared deeply for all." Michael Catania, 19, died after his dirt bike collided with a sedan on Route 138 in Raynham. The sedan driver, a 75-year-old Plymouth man, was not hurt. Police said the man was turning onto Gilmore Street when the crash happened at about 1:10 p.m.
"Michael was a blessing to his family, girlfriend, friends, an acquaintances," his family said in a statement. "Michael cared deeply for all."
Catania graduated from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School in 2016. He was the captain of the football and lacrosse teams and won numerous athletic awards. He leaves behind his parents, girlfriend, twin brother, two older sisters and many relatives.
