Dangerous Bacteria Levels at Fresh Pond in Plymouth

Plymouth's Fresh Pond was closed Thursday after dangerously high bacteria levels were detected.

PLYMOUTH, MA — Fresh Pond in Plymouth was closed to the public Thursday after dangerously high bacteria levels were detected.

The water was tested Tuesday and Wednesday, town officials said.

"The water will continue to be tested daily until the levels have come back to normal," town officials said in a statement. "Closure signs have been posted at the pond."
