Hospice Raises Funds for Plymouth Veteran and Patient
The NVNA and Hospice veteran's recognition program recently honored Bob Kehoe at a fundraiser held at the Plymouth VFW.

Bob Kehoe, 65, is an Army veteran with pancreatic cancer. He and his wife, Joan, are living with Bob’s sister in Plymouth and his goal is to welcome his first grandson who is due July 31. The fundraiser will assist with medical bills and expenses incurred beyond his hospice benefits.
Norwell Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice veteran’s recognition program was established three years ago to give special recognition and gratitude to the agency’s hospice patients who were veterans. They developed its program after the Veteran’s Administration and the Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of Massachusetts reached out to hospices to enlist their support in caring for veterans at the end of life. Two NVNA and Hospice volunteers visit the patient and family to present a Certificate of Appreciation along with a commemorative flag pin. This beautifully framed, personalized tribute is often seen displayed proudly in patients’ homes, and later at wakes and funerals.
