Father & Sons Make Good on Talk of Going into Business Together

(POCASSET, Massachusetts)-Who among us hasn’t sat around the dinner table at one time or another and bandied about the idea of opening a family business? If the question were posed, more than a few of us would raise our hands. It’s fun to dream, and best of all, it doesn’t cost a thing. After all, dreamers are a dime a dozen. But a rare breed is the talker who walks the walk. Well, count the Beauregard men – father Ron and sons Tim and Matt – among the latter because they backed their talk with action.

The trio from Bourne – Ron is 55, Tim is 28 and Matt, 27 – launched Floor Coverings International of Cape Cod, visiting customers’ homes throughout Plymouth and Cape Cod in a Mobile Flooring Showroom stocked with thousands of flooring samples from top manufacturers. “Over the years, we all joked that it would be a good idea to go into business with one another,” Ron said. “As Tim and Matt grew in their respective professions, the talk of going into business became a real conversation and the research began. We attended several Discovery Days at multiple concepts and fell in love with the Floor Coverings International model and the people in the organization.”

Prior to joining Floor Coverings International, Tim worked for ADP and in sales for a medical device distributor. He also ran a performance car shop with a friend. Matt worked on Wall Street for more than three years, where he developed a sense for entrepreneurship from running his own book of business. Ron has been a high-level executive for a large property/casualty underwriting firm managing the insurance needs of Fortune 500 companies and has more than 25 years’ experience leading profitable teams. “Tim and Matt are both young entrepreneurs under the age of 30 looking to make an impact in their local market and I’m looking forward to leaving the corporate world soon and becoming fully engaged in the business,” Ron said.
