Fisheries Hearing, a Free Concert, and the Y Mile Run
Here's a quick view of what's happening in Plymouth today, Aug. 14.

1. NOAA Fisheries Service is hosting a public hearing today in order to solicit public comments on proposed measures to reduce the risk of serious injury or mortality of right, humpback and finback whales as a result of vertical lines in commercial fisheries. The Agency has published and proposed rule and Draft Environmental Impact Statement and soliciting comment on both. The hearing will be held at the Plymouth Public Library main branch from 6 to 8:25 p.m.

3. The Y Mile Run, the third annual Plymouth YMCA one-mile run/walk for families and kids, will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Stephens Field in Plymouth and will finish at Nelson Park. The entry fee is $15 for ages 18 and under and $20 for adults. Register online at www.coolrunning.com or call 508-888-2290. All proceeds support healthy YMCA activities in Plymouth.
4. Brewster Productions presents Acoustic Summer Nights Free Concert Series at 6 p.m. select Saturdays on the lawn at the Hedge House, located at 126 Water St. Scheduled: Â Aug. 17, ECG (Erik Caldarone Group), Emily Peal & Anthony Savino, Brooke Joyce; Aug. 31, Jake Hill, Jason Myles Goss, Dietrich Strause.
