Five Things: Volunteer Opportunities in Plymouth
Are you looking for a way to give back to the community? There are many organizations in Plymouth that need volunteers of all ages and abilities.

1. Sign up for the Friends of the Plymouth Pound annual Walk for Animals at Morton Park Sept. 14. Every dollar raised at the walk is used to pay for veterinary care for homeless animals in FPP's foster care program and for maintaining its low-cost spaying and neutering program. Teams are welcome and sponsorships are available. Sign up at http://friendsplymouthpound.org/news-events/.
2. The Plymouth Center for the Arts, located at 11 North St., is staffed entirely by volunteers. Volunteers are needed for the 46th annual Juried Art Show, Sept. 14 to Oct. 13, to serve as hosts and hostesses and welcome visitors to the Center. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays. Additional volunteers are needed to help prepare the building and grounds for the art show and the special events during the show. Email ppage@plymouthguild.org for more information and to apply. For more information, see www.plymouthguild.org.
3. The Plymouth Farmers' Market could use a hand in several areas, on Market Days and behind the scenes. Check the list and volunteer at http://www.plymouthfarmersmarket.org/community/volunteers/#tab-id-4
4. Plymouth 400, Inc. is the volunteer organization tasked with spreading the word about Plymouth's 400th anniversary in 2020. There are some volunteer opportunities available, find out more at http://www.plymouthma400.org.
