Five Things You Need to Know Today: April 22

1. Plymouth area church pastors and leaders will hold a prayer vigil for the city of Boston at 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Memorial Hall, located at 83 Court St.

2. Visit Pilgrim Hall Museum, at 75 Court St., each Wednesday morning in April for lectures inspired by the current exhibit, “I’ve Been There” – Souvenirs of Pilgrim Plymouth.” Sponsored by Rockland Trust, each program will start at 10 a.m. and last about an hour, including time for questions. Arrive early and enjoy coffee at 9:30 a.m. April 24: “Teawares to Tiles: Pilgrim Souvenir Dishes,” by Karin Goldstein, curator of collections and library, Plimoth Plantation. Residents of Plymouth are admitted free. For nonresidents, admission is $8 per adult, $6 per senior (62-plus) and AAA member, $5 for children (5-17), and $25 per family (two adults with their children aged 5-17). 3. The Plymouth Area League of Women Voters is conducting a Candidates Night at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Plymouth Town Hall. Candidates for the Board of Selectmen and School Committee will be participating. The public is welcome. The Town of Plymouth election is Saturday, May 11. The candidates for the two open slots on the Board of Selectmen are Robert Bielen, John Moody, Matthew Muratore, Douglas Edward O’Roak, Anthony Provenzano Jr. and Richard Quintal Jr. There are also two open positions on the School Committee. Candidates include Debra Betz, Jay Ferguson, Robert Morgan, Kenneth Moriarty Sr. and James Sorensen.

4. Plymouth Youth Hockey presents the third annual Pink in the Rink at the Armstrong skating rink on Long Pond Road. Try girls hockey for free Friday, April 26 (rescheduled from February due to storm); 5:30 p.m. for new female skaters, 6:30 for all female skaters.
