Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 18

The Plymouth Garden Club hosts its annual plant, bake, and yard sale at Chiltonville Congregational Church today starting at 9 a.m.

1. Plymouth's Run for 1 to support Boston's One Fund, takes place at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 25 starting at Pilgrim Memorial Park on the waterfront. The entry is fee is $25 per person or register a team for $100. Participants are encouraged to donate more.

2. The Plymouth Garden Club hosts its annual plant, bake, and yard sale at Chiltonville Congregational Church today starting at 9 a.m. Buy hardy perennials, seedlings, handmade garden containers, rain barrel for sale at reasonable prices.  All proceeds benefit the club's on going civic beautification projects and scholarship fund.

3. The Plymouth Center for the Arts is calling for enteries for its Summer Fine Craft Show, to be held from July 29 to Aug. 11. Members of the Center and their friends may submit up to 4 items for a $10 entry fee. A minimum of two items will be included in the show. The Center is looking  looking for objects made from wood, glass, metal, fiber (quilting, felting, clothing etc...) jewelry, decoupage and multi-media works. All entries must be for sale.

4. Author Steve Porter will be at Used Book Superstore to promote his latest book Manisses, a rollicking good New England yarn set in a place very much like Block Island. Join Steve for a reading and signing at the Plymouth Used Book Superstore from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
