Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 5

It's Cinco de Mayo and many other things today. Check them all out.

1. Support the Old Colony YMCA - Plymouth Branch for its second annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, May 5 at Colony Place. Admission is $5 per person and all proceeds from the event will support the Y's Annual Campaign.

2. Chrissy’s Charity will hold a huge May bazaar at St. Mary Parish Center, on Court Street in North Plymouth, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5. All funds raised will go to the charitable needs of the church and the community. Call Jane at 508-746-6095 or Brenda at 781-585-8954 if you have any questions.

3. The Plymouth North High School athletes will be washing cars from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Colony Place (near Charming Charlie’s), Nolan Insurance on Samoset Street and Mayflower Food and Spirits on South Street. Stop by, show your support for the athletes at Plymouth North and have your car washed for $5. All proceeds will benefit the Plymouth North Booster Club Scholarship Fund. The fund provides $500 college scholarships to six seniors each year.

4. The 8th annual Health and Fitness Expo is being held today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel. The expo showcases heath and wellness styles from acupuncture and massage to zumba and nutrition. The expo features conferences, a marketplace, and a 5K roadrace.
