Have You Heard of the Pilgrim Marathon?

A Texas man is asking for information about Massachusetts races his grandfather ran as a young man, including one in Plymouth called the Pilgrim Marathon.

With news of the Boston Marathon bombing echoing across the country, a Texas man decided to take a look at some dusty old trophies his grandfather left him when he died.

Steve Candler of Weatherford, Texas, is looking for information about races his grandfather, Earle Lester Collins, ran in the 1920s and '30s.

Earle Collins ran in at least four Boston Marathons, placing fifth and sixth in the race during the 1930s, but he also ran in many other in Taunton, Quincy, and Plymouth.

Candler has a second-place trophy won by his grandfather in the Pilgrim Marathon, run July 10, 1932. Collins was born in 1911 and died in 1982, and ran competitively for about 10 years from the late 1920s to the late '30s.

Candler is looking for some information about the races, so the question is: Does anyone remember the Pilgrim Marathon?
