
Days after the military's highest court overturned the murder conviction of Marine Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III, his mother, Kathi, extended her thanks to the community, which stood by her son during the past six years.
"It's been unbelievable support, I've realized through this tragedy that America is truly a beautiful country to live in," she told WATD.
The day before his father's birthday, Hutchins called the family to say he was free.
"We just hope if we can come up with the money to get a plane ticket to visit him in California, we'd be so grateful," Kathi said.
