Subject to delays caused by weather and temperatures, flushing will begin at 7:30 A.M. and continue as late as 8:00 P.M. It is estimated that the flushing in the West Plymouth Pressure Zone will require 5-7 weeks to complete.

Customers may notice a severe drop in pressure while the hydrants are flowing. In addition, customers may notice that some discoloration of their water may occur when they are drawing water while the Water Division is flushing near their home. If this occurs, customers are advised to wait until the Water Division is out of the area and then run cold water from the faucet nearest to the water meter for several minutes. The discoloration should clear up, shortly thereafter.

As a precaution, customers are urged to check their water for discoloration prior to washing laundry. Should a load of laundry be stained by rusty water, please contact the Water Division Office for recommended cleaning instructions.

The Town appreciates the community’s patience during this important annual maintenance activity. General questions may be directed to the DPW's Water Division at (508) 830-4162, during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
