Monday Essentials: Healthy Eating, Priscilla Beach Theatre, and a Summer Concert

A quick list of what's happening this week in Plymouth.

The Market celebrates healthy eating
Monday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. the Healthy Market program will launch at The Market at The Pinehills. The Market has been named Plymouth and the South Shore’s first “Healthy Market” by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Jordan Hospital, and Healthy Plymouth. The Mass in Motion Healthy Market Program, an initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, works with local grocery and convenience store owners to make healthy, affordable food and drink options available to customers. By promoting healthy options, the local markets are helping to make healthy choices easier for customers in Plymouth.

Priscilla Beach Theatre's final children and teens workshop
Priscilla Beach Theatre will present Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors” as the season’s final children and teens workshop, Aug. 12-22. “Comedy of Errors” is Shakespeare’s classic story of two sets of identical twins accidentally separated at birth, then surprisingly reunited, resulting in the expected mayhem. Directed by Geronimo Sands, artistic director emeritus, the two-week workshop meets weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12-22, (except Aug. 16, when it meets from 1 to 5 p.m.). Performances are at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 and 24 at PBT’s new outdoor theatre under the tent at 800 Rocky Hill Road.

Each two-week workshop costs $300 per student and is directed by professionals who create a safe and supportive environment to learn, explore, build confidence, forge strong bonds and develop stage skills, all while having fun. Space is limited and early registration is recommended. PBT now accepts payments through Visa, MasterCard or American Express. To register for workshops, visit www.pbtheatre.org, or call 508-224-4888.
