PLYMOUTH, MA — The Plymouth Board of Health issued an emergency mask order directing strict enforcement of state face mask regulations in the downtown waterfront dining and shopping area of the town.

The mandate, which is in line with the statewide mandate requiring masks in all commercial businesses and public outdoor areas when social distancing cannot be maintained, is designed to promote a safe and inviting area for town businesses and residents.

"As we are aware the Plymouth Downtown dining/shopping and waterfront area is a magnet for residents and visitors," the order states. "This order is to provide a safer environment for our community, as well as to stimulate our businesses and economy.
