Plymouth Fire Department Assists In Vaccinating Elderly Residents

Approximately 331 senior residents and housing authority staff will receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine by the end of the week.

PLYMOUTH, MA — The Plymouth Fire Department is assisting with town's senior housing vaccination clinics this week, said a news release from the department.

The clinics began on Tuesday and will continue through the rest of the week, said the news release. Brewster Ambulance Service personnel are administering the vaccines and Plymouth fire officials are helping with set-up, documentation, and post-evaluation.

“It’s a privilege of ours to be able to assist the town at these senior housing vaccination clinics,” said Chief G. Edward Bradley in a statement. “We are among the first in the state to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to elderly residents at senior housing and congregate living sites, and we hope that following this endeavor we will be able to broaden our efforts to vaccinate homebound seniors as well.”

“We are extremely pleased to be a member of this collaborative program between the Plymouth Fire Department, Brewster Ambulance Service, the Town of Plymouth and the Plymouth Housing Authority,”said Bradley. “I’d like to thank Brewster Ambulance Service and the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, as without them this program wouldn’t have been possible.”
