Plymouth North Beats South In Softball Patriot Cup Tourney, 7-5

Plymouth North edged out South in the cross-town rivalry in the tournament.

PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North Blue Eagles and the Plymouth South Panthers softball teams faced each other for a cross-town rivalry in the second round of the Patriot Cup. Plymouth South was the home team because they were the #1 seed of the Fisher Division and North was the #2 seed of the Keenan Division.

Plymouth North scored the first two runs of the game when Kylee Carafoli got a sacrifice fly and a RBI Single by Maggie Ladd.

Then in the fourth inning, Plymouth South tied the game at 2 when Alyssa Briggs did a 2-RBI single.

Then in the sixth inning, Plymouth North got in five runs to make it 7-2. Then, Plymouth South’s Ashley MacPhail and Amaelia Freitas drove in three runs together to make it 7-5.

This is was a double elimination game because it is a game between the #1 and #2 seeds of the opposite divisions in the Patriot League.

Plymouth North will advance to the Semifinals and face either Hingham, Pembroke, or Hanover for their next game, date and time will be determined, the game will be at Plymouth North High School. Plymouth South will face the winner of Marshfield/Whitman-Hanson, who will face each other on Monday. Stay tuned to this post for updates.
