Plymouth North Lost To Silver Lake In Baseball Season Opener, 7-5
In the first game in two seasons, the kids are excited to go back on the diamond.
PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North Blue Eagles baseball team raveled to Kingston to face off against the Silver Lake Lakers in their season opener on Friday evening. This was their first game in two seasons because last season was canceled due to COVID-19.
In the first inning, Plymouth North scored three runs off RBIs from senior Josh Gomes and junior Alex Peruzzi. Plymouth North was leading 3-0 at the end of the first inning.
Then in the second inning, Plymouth North senior Nick Desrochers batted in a run, and then there was a sacrifice fly from Silver Lake’s Ohlson. Then Sliver Lake scored a run in the third when Plymouth North did a throwing error. Plymouth North had the lead at 4-2 at the end of the third inning.

In the fourth inning, Silver Lake scored two runs on a sacrifice fly freshman second baseman Chris Quigley and a Mike Schmitz RBI single to tie the game 4-4.
Then Plymouth North junior outfielder Connor Vellocone hit a one-run home run to take the lead at 5-4 in the sixth inning. Then in the seventh inning, Silver Lake’s Mike Schmitz hit a three-run home run to take the lead at 7-5. Plymouth North lost to Silver Lake, 7-5.

Plymouth North’s next baseball game will be at Duxbury High School to face the Dragons on Monday, May 11th at 7 p.m.
