Plymouth North Shuts Out Silver Lake In Baseball, 10-0

The Plymouth North win marked a 400th win for it's head coach Darren Follette.

PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North Blue Eagles baseball team faced the Silver Lake Lakers on Wednesday Afternoon. Plymouth North is coming off a win against Whitman-Hanson on Monday Afternoon, 10-7. Silver Lake is coming off a loss to Hingham on Monday, 13-3. Plymouth North was currently on a four game winning streak.

The previous meeting between the teams was on May 7th, when they played their season openers, in which Silver Lake won 7-5.

In the first inning, Plymouth North drove in two runs including an RBI single by senior second baseman Dylan Zymentel and an RBI groundout by junior Connor Vercollone.

In the second inning, Plymouth North opened up with an infield error, batter hit by a pitch and then both the runners scored on wild pitches.

In the third inning, senior Matt Murphy got an RBI by a sacrifice fly, in which Zymentel scored and Connor Mackenzie had a RBI double, in which Vercollone scored score to make it 6-0.

In the next three innings, Plymouth North would score 4 more runs and shut out Silver Lake to get a 10-0 win.

Senior Nick Desrochers went 1 for 2 and scored two runs for the Eagles, Joc Norris went 1 for 2 with an RBI triple and a run.

This win marks Plymouth North head coach Darren Folette’s 400th win for the team.

Plymouth North’s senior starting pitcher Alec Peruzzi pitched 4 1/3 innings, and then was relived by Cam Champney who earned the win with 1 2/3 innings, in which he earned the win for the Eagles.

The season series against Silver Lake is split 1-1, and this was Plymouth North’s fifth straight win after losing to Silver Lake at the beginning of the season.

Plymouth North’s next game will be against Duxbury On Friday at 4 p.m. start time.
