A yarn pop is a public art installation created by knitters, crocheters, and felters that will be displayed in featured locations around town. Our goal is to share art created with yarn to inspire renewal and rebirth. We need you to create spring-themed knitted, crocheted, or felted flowers, vines, leaves, or cute insects for our installation.

We have kits you can pick up and you do not have to be “crafty” to participate – the wrapped flowers require no special tools at all, while the pom-pom and felt flowers require scissors and glue/or a small amount of sewing. (Instructions are included). If you can knit or crochet and would like to be creative, you can use any patterns for this project. (The Library has pattern books available). Also, it is best to use acrylic yarn because the flowers will be displayed outside – draw from your own stash or stop by Plymouth Harbor Knits for discounted yarns. Please try to match the palette below so that our display will be cohesive.

Completed items must be dropped off at the Library by April 15. Please enclose your pieces in sealed plastic bags to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
