Plymouth Resident Promoted at Liberty Bay Credit Union
Kathy Peila Named Senior Vice President of Project Management

Liberty Bay Credit Union, one of the most established credit unions in New England, has promoted Kathy Peila to Senior Vice President of Project Management. Peila previously served as First Vice President of Project Management and Deposit Operations
In her new role, Peila will provide oversight and governance of the credit union’s portfolio and is charged with the management of key projects in support of Liberty Bay’s strategic plan. Peila has been a part of the management team since late 2017. Prior to joining Liberty Bay, she was Senior Vice President, Director of Project and Reporting Office at Boston Private, where she had been employed for 25 years. “Peila is exceptionally well versed in the banking industry. She brings an extensive range of knowledge in many sectors. She will be instrumental in launching Liberty Blue Advisory later this year,” said President Lyndon Matteson.
“Peila has the ability to draw out the best in others, often through thoughtful inquiry and careful suggestion. It is a uniquely valuable management style,” commented Chief Executive Officer Ed Lopes.

A graduate of Connecticut College, Peila earned Bachelors degrees in both Economics and Hispanic Studies. Peila also has a Master of Science degree in Training and Development from Lesley University. Additionally, she maintains a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
“This is an exciting time at Liberty Bay. I am thrilled to partner with the rest of senior management to execute on projects that will allow us to serve our communities and membership in new and different ways,” said Peila. A native of Cape Cod, Peila resides in Plymouth with her husband and two sons.
