Plymouth South Football Edges out Scituate, 27-22
Plymouth South will advance to the Patriot League Fisher Division Championship with the win.
PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth South Panthers football team traveled to Scituate High on Friday Night to face the Sailors. Plymouth South attempted to punch their ticket into the Patriot League Fisher Division championship.
In the first half, Plymouth South scored first in the game by a 59-yard interception return touchdown by Jack Condon Then Scituate’s Keegan Sullivan tied the game by a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Then with 22 seconds left in the first quarter, Keegan Sullivan returned a punt from Plymouth South for 70 yards for a touchdown to take the lead 14-7. In the second quarter, Hunter Dean ran a 12-yard touchdown to tie the game at 14 with 2 minutes left in the half.
In the second half, Jack Condon got another touchdown, this time being a 15-yarder by Hunter Dean to make the score 21-14. Then, Scituate shortened the gap by getting a safety to make it 21-16. Then the defensive play of the game was when Anthony Loranger did a 35-yard fumble return touchdown after strip sacking Scituate quarterback Henry Gates. The final touchdown of the game was when Keegan Sullivan scored his 3rd touchdown for Scituate to make the score 27-22. Scituate attempted an onside kick to get back the football but was unsuccessful when Plymouth South recovered the kick. The final score was that Plymouth South won against Scituate, 27-22.

Scituate’s Keegan Sullivan had 228 all-purpose yards with three total touchdowns. Hunter Dean had three total touchdowns with both passing touchdowns to Jack Condon and the rushing touchdown. Quarterback Hunter Dean had 115 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown while passing 6-for-11 with 83 yards with a passing touchdown.
Plymouth South will be facing North Quincy in the Patriot League Fisher Division Championship next weekend. If Plymouth North wins the division championship, then they will advance to the Patriot Cup championship when they face the champion of the Keenan Division.
