Plymouth South Lost To Whitman-Hanson In Patriot Cup Final, 8-1
The first inning 6 run scoring explosion by Whitman-Hanson carried the team to win the Patriot Cup in baseball.
PLYMOUTH,MA-The Plymouth South Panthers baseball team faced the Whitman-Hanson Panthers for the Patriot Cup Championship on Wednesday Afternoon.
In the first inning, Whitman-Hanson went on an explosion of runs. First, Tommy Marshall did a 2-run Double to start the inning off. Then a 2-run single by Ethan Smith made it 4-0. Finally, Ty Gordon’s RBI double and Aidan Berry’s sacrifice fly closed out the big inning for Whitman-Hanson.
In the third inning, Whitman-Hanson's Cole LeVangie doubled and then TJ Whitman drove him home with an RBI single.

In the fifth inning, Gordon did another RBI double to make it 8-0 Whitman-Hanson.
In the seventh inning, Hunter Dean broke up the shutout for Plymouth South by doing a solo home run to make it 8-1 with one out. Although, that would not be enough to stop the bleeding as Whitman-Hanson won the game and won the Patriot Cup against Plymouth South.

Plymouth South will face Canton in the first round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Tournament on Monday, June 21st. That same day, Whitman-Hanson will face Dartmouth in the first round. There would be a rematch of this game in the Quarterfinals if both teams win their games.
