PLYMOUTH, MA — A rare April snowstorm will make the Monday evening commute treacherous in Plymouth.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through Monday at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The storm resulted in the deaths of two people Sunday in Abington when a tree fell on their vehicle. There were numerous crashes Monday and thousands lost power.

- LOCATIONS...ALL OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND EXCEPT FOR THE IMMEDIATE SOUTH COAST...CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS.
- ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 3 TO 6 INCHES. BEST CHANCE OF THE HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE ACROSS THE HIGH TERRAIN.
- TIMING...AT LATE MORNING THERE WAS A BIT OF A LULL IN THE STEADY SNOW ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION. ANOTHER ROUND OF MODERATE TO PERHAPS BRIEFLY HEAVY SNOW SHOULD OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...PARTICULARLY SOUTH OF THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE.
- IMPACTS...MANY ROADS WERE JUST WET AS OF LATE MORNING...BUT A FEW WERE SLUSH COVERED ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE HIGH TERRAIN. GREATEST CONCERN IS LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING. SECOND ROUND OF MODERATE TO BRIEFLY HEAVY SNOW MAY ACCUMULATE ON ROADS...ESPECIALLY BY EARLY EVENING AS MOST LOCATIONS FALL BACK INTO THE 20S. THIS MAY RESULT IN A MESSY EVENING RUSH HOUR...INCLUDING THE BOSTON TO PROVIDENCE CORRIDOR.
The snow will move out Tuesday but temperatures will remain frigid, with lows in the teens.
