Plymouth Youth MassElite Football Headed to National Championship

Seven Outstanding Plymouth Youth Football Players, Part of MassElite Teams Playing for National Championship Title in Naples, FL 12/16-19

Westwood, MA- December 5, 2019 for the second year in a row the Massachusetts Elite football teams won their way into the Elite 8 of the FBU National Championship. The concluding rounds of the tournament will take place in Naples, FL beginning on Monday, December 16th. All three teams competed in and won their Northeast regional bracket games, which were held in Holmsdel, NJ November 30th and December 1st. Kentucky was the only other state out of 32 to send all three teams to Naples.

"We are very proud of our teams," said Mass Elite co-owner PJ Vande Rydt. "Our players have worked very hard to get to this point. We have 119 young men from 33 cities and towns across Massachusetts and represent a true cross section of football leagues and school programs. The following standout athletes from the Plymouth Vikings and Plymouth South Jaguars Football Programs are on the 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams:
6th Grade: Giovanni Lynch-Ruberio, PSMS, Vikings
7th Grade: Bradford Leonard, PSMS, Vikings
8th Grade: Casious Johnson, PSMS, Vikings
8th Grade: Conor Weeks, PCIS, Vikings
8th Grade: Dale Holloway, PCIS, Vikings
8th Grade: Krystian Pothel, Fay Academy, (Former) Vikings
8th Grade: Jeremy Keifer, PSMS, Jaguars

Mass Elite Football has a long history of success, and has one of the most successful programs in the country sending 23 teams to the final 8 over the last 9 years with 3 of those teams coming in 3rd in the country. Some of our past alumni on those teams were Northwestern’s Blake and Bryce Gallagher, UCLA’s Austin Burton, Stanford’s Jay Symonds, Penn State’s Jayden Dottin, Boston College players Fin Dirstine and Danny Dalton plus numerous D1AA, D2, Ivy and NESCAC players currently playing. There are currently 8 High School players with big time D1 multiple offers including Kalel Mullings who is headed to Michigan and will be playing in the prestigious NBC High School All American Bowl on National TV January 4th. Three of last year’s 8th grade players will be playing in the FBU/Adidas Freshman All American Bowl on Dec 18th in Naples Xaverian DE Matt Defoe, Belmont Hill DB Kole Osunubi and BB&N TE Preston Zinter. Vande Rydt says the Mass Elite football program has helped put Massachusetts football on the map, and has helped give these young men an opportunity to take their skills they have learned to the next level, and compete against teams that play year round, and also shows colleges from around the country that the talent is as good in Massachusetts as it is in all of the southern, Midwest states. This is a big expense for these families especially at this time of year. If you are interested in helping these boys out please email pj@masselitefootball.com any donation would be appreciated.
