Plyouth Murder Case Goes Back To Court

Community feels heartache for a second time because of Goodsell's case being back in court for a compliance hearing.

PLYMOUTH, MA – Just about one year ago, Gregory Goodsell of Marshfield was charged for murdering a 13-year-old Plymouth girl. As much as a tough year it’s been, filled with heartache and healing for the community; many are feeling that pain for a second time last Wednesday because of Goodsell’s case being back in court for a compliance hearing.

Goodsell was intoxicated and was under the influence of cocaine when his pickup truck ran a red light in Pembroke. Goodsell struck another car, operated by Elizabeth Zisserson of Plymouth. In the backseat was Zisserson’s daughter Claire and a friend, Kendall Zemotel, both 13. All three females suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, where Claire Zisserson eventually died.

A year later, Goodsell is still being held at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility and there hasn’t been a date set for the trial. March 13, 2020, Goodsell was charged by a Plymouth grand jury for second-degree murder as well as motor vehicle manslaughter while operating under the influence, motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence, leaving the scene of property damage, and two counts of operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury.
