Shark Sighting Reported Off White Horse Beach In Plymouth
White Horse Beach was closed early Wednesday afternoon after a report of a 10-foot shark sighting.
PLYMOUTH, MA — White Horse Beach in Plymouth was closed to swimmers early Wednesday afternoon after a 10-foot shark was reported spotted in the waters off the beach.
The Plymouth Harbormaster was investigating shortly after noon, according to the shark tracking website AtlanticWhiteShark.org.

The sighting comes amid a dramatic increase in shark sightings in New England and Long Island waters in recent days, and the death of a New York woman in a shark attack in Maine earlier this week.

And sharks aren't the only big fish roaming in the waters just off the coast the Plymouth Harbormaster posted video of a large tuna swimming in 11 feet of water at the same time the shark sighting was being investigated.
