Such a Pickle: Ruuska Pickles Grows While Staying Local

Ruuska All Natural Pickles was established in 2011 in Plymouth by Brian Ruuska. His mom's pickles were a summer staple and were famous.  All of the neighborhood kids would come over the house before heading to the beach, just to grab a Ruuska Pickle. As Brian’s friends got older, they started to ask Brian to ship his mom’s famous pickles to them. Mrs. Ruuska’s secret pickle recipe brought a family tradition to life when Brian began selling Ruuska Pickles to local farmers markets in and around Cape Cod.

Small and independent grocery stores around the South Shore and Cape Cod have begun carrying Ruuska Pickles and Brian says the pickles will soon go national. Ruuska Pickles can also be found Thursday afternoons at the Plymouth Farmers' Market at Plimoth Plantation.
