Thomas The Tank Engine Gets a Home at Edaville
The hallmark New England attraction is permanently adding the classic children's character to its theme park.
Choo! Choo!
Children (and parents, alike) will love the new addition coming to Edaville USA Railroad next summer. Thomas the Tank Engine is chugging along the track to Carver, and is sure to bring joy to kids and kids at heart.
Countless generations of Americans since the immediate end of World War II have visited the New England landmark, which is the oldest in operation two-gauge track railroad in the country.

“Thomas is going to be 70 years old in 2015, so imagine how many generations grew up on it,” Crystal Cruz of Edaville USA told Patch.
According to the theme park, events featuring the Thomas character are a regular Edaville sell out and one of the park’s more successful exhibits. So, making it permanent was a no-brainer for the park.

“We’re adding Thomas inside of Edaville,” Cruz said. “It’s park within a park.”
Thomas Land, as it’s being called, will have 14 rides based on the television show Thomas & Friends, including a 20-minute train ride on a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine. Edaville says in a statement the new section will include a roller coaster, Ferris wheel and other rides will feature other Thomas characters and children will have a chance to meet the railroad’s administrator Sir Topham Hatt.
