What is this, Florida? Over the past few days the National Weather Service has predicted thunderstorms every afternoon for Eastern Massachusetts, and Wednesday is no different.

This afternoon, the NWS predicts showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. and "some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain."

Frequent lightning and heavy rain will be a more widespread threat overall.  Since it's an earlier start to the storms, high temps fall short of 90, breaking our heat wave in the city of Boston. Still plenty of warmth though with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Expect more thunderstorms Thursday, Friday and through the weekend.
