Water Division Flushing Hydrants in Cedarville This Week

All flushing will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue as late as 8 p.m.

The Water Division will be flushing hydrants in the Cedarville pressure zone this week.

The Cedarville pressure zone encompasses all areas south of house number 1650 State Road to the Bourne town line and all the side streets. The hydrant bonnets and caps are painted blue in this zone.

All flushing will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue as late as 8 p.m.

The Water Division estimates that the flushing in Cedarville will require six days to complete. Customers may notice a severe drop in pressure while the hydrants are flowing. Some discoloration of the water may occur when the hydrants nearby are being flushed. If this occurs, wait until the flushing is over, then run cold water from the faucet nearest the water meter for several minutes.  water from the faucet nearest to the water meter for several minutes and it should clear up.

Water customers are urged to check their water for discoloration prior to washing laundry. Should a load of laundry be stained by rusty water, contact the Water Division office for recommended cleaning instructions.
