Water Street In Plymouth To Close For One Week

Work on Water Street to make repairs to brickwork and cobblestone crosswalk.

PLYMOUTH, MA — Brickwork and cobblestone crosswalk repair will force the closure of Water Street in Plymouth to traffic starting on Monday. Plymouth police said the portion of Water Street in front of Plymouth Rock Portico will be closed through Saturday to do the necessary work.

Police said it is necessary to keep the roadway closed the entire time to allow for brickwork repairs to cure.

Detours will be in place. North Street and Leyden Street will remain open with southbound through traffic on Water Street directed on to Brewster Street to Court Street to avoid the work zone. Northbound traffic on Water Street will be directed on to Leyden Street to Court Street.

The Department of Public Works will coordinate detours with Plymouth police. Electronic signs and message boards will be in place to convey information throughout the work.
